Recently, the demand for spatio-temporal database is becoming larger and larger. It manages spatial objects that change positions or extents over time. It can be used in many fields such as GIS, Transportation, Weather forecast and so on. Its aim is to have the ability of describing, organizing spatio-temporal information and implementing the spatio-temporal analysis efficiently.STAMOSII, designed and realized by this paper, has the ability of organizing and analyzing spatio-temporal information. The research details of this paper are as follows:(1)Describe the development of research on spatio-temporal database. Analyze Realms's concept and spatio-temporal data types based on Realms. Analyze the logical structure of spatio-temporal data types in system STAMOSII.(2)Discuss the definition of spatio-temporal objects'structures. Describe all datas'meanings and usages. Summarize the spatio-temporal functions which are integrated into system STAMOSII. Analyze two typical functions in details.(3)Describe the basic mind of red-blue problems. Analyze the three key points of plane sweep algorithms. Based on the mind of red-blue problems, this paper puts forward an algorithm RB_Regions used to handle topological analysis among moved regions. This paper designs the RB_List structure which calculates and saves important attributes during the spatio-temporal analysis. The structure is the key point of RB_Regions algorithm. Using RB_List we can execute different spatio-temporal topology analysis operations among moved regions.(4) Analyze the object-relation database AMOSII , especially its two interfaces. Using AMOSII's ability of extending data, this paper realizes spatio-temporal objects'saving methods, type creation and relevant operation functions.(5)Design and realize the spatio-temporal analysis system STAMOSII based on AMOSII. This paper describes STAMOSII's system structure, realizes spatio-temporal objects edit, analysis and user interface subsystems.
