The Design Of Router's Interface Module--The Design Of Ethernet Module And Ethernet Module

With the great development of Internet,it has been one of the hotest topics that many persons concern.Many orgnizations and groups are building or has built the network of their own so that they could access Internet,accompanying which is the problem of network security. Router is one of the most important devices that interconnect the networks.It played and will continue to play an important role during the development of Internet. To design router's software and hardware of our own independently is one of the considerations of network security.The project is to design a module router that has independent intellecture property right. The main task of the thesis is to design two interface modules of the module router,i.e.,ISDN module and Ethernet module and write their initial programs. The rest of this paper is organized as follows.In section 1,the conception of route and the background of module router are presented. Then we described the importance of designing module router that has independent intellecture property right through the network security aspect ,teaching and research aspect.Section 2 starts from selecting the core component of the router,microprocessor,then described the characteristic of the selected microprocessor,in the end brings forward the main framework of the module router design.The characteristic of Ethernet is described first in section 3,then the Ethernet layer 1 controller chip,LXT905, is introduced. Finally the design of the Ethernet module's hardware circuit and initial program are completed.In section 4,the characteristic of ISDN is described first, then the ISDN layer 1 controller chip,MC145572, is introduced. Finally the design of the ISDN module's hardware circuit and initial program are accomplished.The last section,section 5, concludes the whole paper and puts forward the future work that could be done.
