Microwave mixer is one of the important microwave parts, as forepart of the receiver, it was applied in communication, satellite and high frequency electric measurement system and so on. With the development of the communication, there need the bulk, weight and aseismatic capability to be better. So the microwave mixer is more integrated, the complexity of it is higher. Moreover, the parts of mixer are integrated, the parts are difficult to be replaced, adjusted and individually measured . In recent years, people have researched in microwave circuit assistant design based on CAD, there appeared a lot of CAD softwares, the period of design and debug is shortened greatly and the efficiency is improved by them. Now, out of the microwave CAD softwares, there are three popular softwares: microwave office, NT soft and ADS. Among them, Microwave have strong capability in circuit editing, testing and stimulation, and have abundant components and modules, the performance price ratio of it is better, and a lot of people use it. But because it is primary a circuit design software, the calculation capability of which is not very good, it can not gain the circuit structure and parameter according to the system index. The study how to use CAD software to adjust circuit structure ,to confirm circuit parameter and enhance design efficiency has important theory value and practical value.The subject brings forward a new design method which uses the method of dividing parts design combining Mathcad and Microwave together. The method make Mathcad as the software to analyze numerical value. Use it strong capability of calculation to make up the deficiency of Microwave. Through the alternant using of calculate the different circuit structures and parameters through MATHCAD, to make up the calculation shortage of MICROWAVE. through the combination of the two softwares, the method improves the efficiency of design. Two representative mixers circuits are designed to explain the method. The simulation results of the two circuits prove the validity and correctness of the method. The research shows that through using parts design method, the workload is reduced greatly, the period of design is shortened. It has many merits such as the short period, high efficiency, simple, good repeatability ,cheap, has strong practical sense. The method is attempted in LAN, proved that it can be used to design microwave mixer circuit in LAN, which can satisfy the need for group design. Finally.The research of the subject includes: first, study the problems during circuit design using Microwave software; second, use Mathcad to program the data calculation and band it together with Microwave to design mixer circuit. Through the design of the two circuitexplain the method which band two softwares together, the validity and correctness of that method are proved by the simulation results of the two circuits. In the end, through the experiment in LAN ,validates its feasibility in LAN, extends its applicable field. the method is used to get the according circuit structure and parameters through the test results of the characteristicof the two microwave parts.
