With the development of the process industrial technology, the technology of bottom automatic producing process monitor has gradually become better and better. As monitor configuration software has the characteristics such as stability, solidity, perfect function and easiness, it has been on the focus of more and more enterprises. Most of the monitor platforms configured with the monitor configuration software are the systems based on the concept "Monitor Island". The platforms rely on their own bottom controlling and data collecting system, and they are aimed at each single workshop or process. The development and application of the enterprise Intranet has bring new requirements to the fields of industrial control, and makes it possible that the data islands which are closed down can connect and share data with each other. However, at present market the monitor configuration software are various and each has its own characteristic. According to the monitored object, the specific monitor requirements and the price of the monitor configuration software, there are usually several various kinds of platforms, which are used to monitor different work spots or different parts of a work spot. These heterogeneous platforms are configured with different monitor configuration software, so they are difficult to connect and share data with each other. In order to connect the heterogeneous monitor platforms and share data, the problem of the heterogeneous and remote monitor of the monitor platforms should be solved.In order to conform to the development of the enterprise Intranet and to solve the problem of heterogeneous monitor platforms, the remote monitor system based on heterogeneous monitor platform is put forward, which is combined with various technologies of database and Internet. B/S structure is involved in the scheme. Compared with that of C/S Structure, human-machine interface of B/S structure are more identical and friendly. Besides, it is easy not only in using but also in setting up, maintaining and upgrading. Referring to implementation, the monitor platforms and data-collecting card is communicated with equipments. Data are transported withODBC interface and SQL function from the platforms to the database server in which data of various monitor platforms are unified. Web server is communicated with database server. Real-time data of the monitor platforms are got in Web Server. Dynamic pages with the data are made and published on intranet with Web Server. Clients can view the pages with IE to know the situation of the spots.The key technologies of the remote monitor system based on heterogeneous monitor platform was elaborated in the passage, including SQL function and ODBC interface, in which the problem of the heterogeneous platform was mainly solved, B/S structure, Internet Information Server and the application of ActiveX on Web, in which the problem of remote monitor was mainly solved.Finally, according to the scheme, a set of remote monitor system based on heterogeneous monitor platform was configured with monitor platforms of coke-preparation workshop in Coke Plant of Wuhan Iron and Steel Company and EFPT process controlling experiment equipment. The scheme and the implementation are combined together perfectly, in which good result was got and an effective method to raise the efficiency of the industrial monitor system was offered.
