The Research Of The Congestion Control Algorithm In The ATM Network

Along with the population of the computer network, the network's users have increased so rapidly that it is a more serious problem that the network appeared congestion phenomenon. Congestion control is a key field that insure Internet stabilization and the basic of managing control mechanism and applications, so it becomes very important that the study of network congestion control mechanism.Congestion control of network has open-loop and closed-loop control commonly. Closed-loop control is used commonly in the complicated system of incessant changed Internet operation. According as the standpoint of the cybernetics, the dispatchers incept the feedback information and deduce network condition from feedback information and adjust sending rate from the some control algorithm and complete the response for network congestion. Accordingly, correct control algorithm is the key of network congestion control. So the importance of studying network congestion control becomes studying control algorithm.Therefore an important subject of network congestion control ?congestion control algorithms for ABR in the ATM network has been investigated in this paper. We present a new congestion control algorithm made of the SAM and the AAM based on analyzing the present algorithms. It make network have the speciality of the fast response and fast convergence at one time according to operating the two method exchanged one another.Based on the congestion control algorithm in the present dissertation a performance test is carried out. The results obtained show that the algorithm haves well performance.
