Quantitative description of terrestrial ecosystem parameters is key part of the global environment research, which more and more depends on the observational data collection and analysis. The availability of MODIS data, which main goals are to monitor global environment change, gives us a new opportunity for acquirement of the terrestrial parameters and will conduct global change research. MODIS has wide spectral range and spatial coverage, as well as the continuous coverage MODIS will provide over time, and observes the Earth as a unified nature, which is necessary for multidisciplinary studies of land, ocean, and atmospheric processes and their interactions, and will provide us the global data for at least 15 years. To promote the MODIS data processing and applications in China, we developed the MODIS data processing software, which is based on our study. My main research results are listed below:1. The MODIS data processing software is developed in the C++ language;2. A new and efficient geometrical correction algorithm is proposed for MODIS IB data, and possesses of the merits of forward mapping and inverse mapping algorithms;3. Algorithms to remove stripe noise in MODIS IB data are developed, including Fourier Transform, Wavelet Transform and interpolation method;4. MODIS data composite algorithm is developed, and a 16-day composite map covering entire China and its outward is produced.
