SMA Actuator Design And Control Technique Research

Application of SMA actuator applied in robots is introduced. From a practical view, the varies properties of SMA related to actuator design are detailed, driving principles and patterns discussed and an experimental SMA rotatory actuator constructed. After analyzing the material, a new control pattern on the basis of fuzzy theory is proposed. A concrete controller has been constructed, including PWM producer, angle feedback and serial communicating circuits, etc. Meanwhile, corresponding control programs have been designed. Finally, some experiments have been carried. Both the theory analysis and experimental results show that the PWM controller based on fuzzy control to be applied in SMA actuator is feasible and practicable, and deserved further research.
