It is important to represent amount abstractly or invisible data by pictures and mutual control ,with the aid of computer graphics and image process techniques, Visualization not only provides convenient model material, but also is helpful to the following data analysis, which can make all information to be displayed directly ,then discovery and analyze problems correctly. It is a important aspect to make information visualized in the field of geophysics and information technique.This thesis mainly studies the method of how to realize the scientific information visualization in the field of geophysics and its application, and develops a software system which displays related data information by 3_D pictures, combining the research project on 3_D surface velocity model tomography inversion.In this thesis, the main work is as follows:· Complete the surface reconstruction of 3_D data volume by constructing triangle unit using the shortest diagonal algorithm;· It is important to generate the fine surface detail on an object in computer graphics. Using textures, one aspect can display the surface detail, and improve the graphic really; the other can simply the process of constructing the model .In the thesis , subdivision algorithm for texture mapping is applied by dividing object and texture pattern into triangles and polygons.· It can be believed that the clipping is to get the intersection points in which two planes are intersected. Using Bresenham algorithm determines the clipping trace to obtain all intersects, by which all clipping planes and cross-section are drawn.· Realize dynamic clip display of 3_D velocity model by texture mapping and model transformation.· It can make user observe all planes by dragging mouse.We can analyze and observe directly the reasonability of processed data, that is helpful to improve the quality of tomography inversion and the reliability of velocity model tomography inversion, then provide reasonable surface velocity model for tomography static correction by some means, such as rotating, scale graphics, meanwhile combining with relating sectional drawing and clipping drawing.
