During these years, the main fact of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) industry is the shorter produce period, the shorter time of product which put in market, the smaller produce batch, the more new technology. How to improve SMT produce efficiency and how to optimize SMT system? The travelling salesman problem (TSP) base on SMT optimization is provided.The travelling salesman problem is always one of the most interesting and the hardest topic in combinatorial majorization. There is currently a lot of ongoing activity in the scientific community to research TSP. It has been used successfully in many fields, such as communication project, produce attemperation and PCB layout. The theory and application of TSP are not mature, so we must study it more.At first, the paper introduces the development status, technics and trends of SMT and discusses principle and complexity of TSP. Then according the requirement of SMT production, the factor of SMT produce efficiency is analyzed, optimization principle of SMT is sum up. Analyse and research is given about TSP base on SMT optimization. System analysis and design scheme is provided and realized by programming. Moreover, it is solved by backtrack algorithm, combining the time and effect of requirement of SMT. Finally, this solve scheme is applied to SMT system, it has greatlyimproved the produce efficiency, and proved superiority and efficiency of scheme.The realization of this scheme has solved optimization problem of SMT produce, and greatly improved the produce efficiency. At the same time, it may provide a referable way of resolving optimization problem of SMT by other algorithm.
