When the rotating furnace is directly exposed to the liquid steel, slag and furnace gas and subjected to the physical, mechanical and chemical corrosion during the process of steel-smelting, the furnace's life-span will be decreased and the production loss will be caused as well. Therefore, the continuous monitoring will play an important role in the steel-smelting production. In order to extend the furnace liner's life-span to increase the productivity of the rotating furnace and to reduce the total costs of steel production, the method of laser distance-measuring is adopted all the time, both domestic and abroad, to measure the undulation of the furnace liner surface and to master the corrosion situation of the surface liner so as to do the maintenance and restoration in time. Here, put forward a multi-pattern thickness measuring system based on data fusion.In this paper, the research is focused on the following three parts: the whole design of the multi-pattern thickness-measuring system of data fusion; image process the design of thickness-measuring system as well as the source images fusion processing. We finally achieve the geometry calculation of thickness-measuring based on the edge checking and measuring of flam inside the furnace through the synthetic application of image processing technique and the detailed observation of the subject's own features. We also synthetically employ the gray-edge checking and measuring and outline extract, etc. during the image pre-processing stage, which laid good foundation for the final thickness-measuring processing. We advance the method of fusion processing for the source image in order that we can get more accurate image before the image processing. We also came up with a land of calculation with classifies the images based on the BP nervous network, and then integrate them according to their regional features. The experiment shows that better integration effect has been achieved.A brand-new thickness-measuring method for the steel furnace liner is put forward in this system and the achievement of this system will greatly improve the check and measuring efficiency, meanwhile, it also provides other feasible high-temperature check and measuring methods in industry, that is to say, this system has some certain common uses.
