Application of advanced process control (APC) technology to the product line of middle-density fibre board is dealt with. According to the control request of two key sectors of the whole system, Generalized predictive control(GPC) and fuzzy control are respectively adopted to be theoretically studied and actually applied .Multi-grades distributive process control system is built to realize integrated automation.The main research work and contributions of this dissertation are as follows:1. A survey of advanced process control (APC) technology is summarized in brief, and introductions of a survey of generalized predictive control(GPC) and fuzzy control(FC) of the advanced process control (APC) are emphasized.2. The question for study is a part of subsystem of production process control system of application & demonstration project of CIMS of Fuzhou man-made board plant under the "863 Program". The whole system is a multi-grades distributive process control system in which the advanced process control (APC) technologies are applied to control the two key sectors, namely the drying sector and the heat milling sector, of the production processes of the man-made board plant.3. The basic principle of the model predictive control(MPC) is introduced ,and several main model predictive controls(MPC) are also introduced. An introduction of the basic method of generalized predictive control(GPC), the evaluation of recurrence Diophantine equation the adaptive algorithm and the selection of the parameters of generalized predictive control(GPC) is emphasized. The characters of different model predictive controls(MPC) are pointed out.4. An introduction of the principle and design of fuzzy control is given, and its shortcomings in application is pointed out.5. An introduction of the structure and realized function of multi-grades distributive process control system is given.6. In order to meet the requirement of the control requirement of the drying system, the integration of model predictive control(MPC) and PID control is investigated. The design and simulation experiments of the control system are carried out to show its feasibility and effect, and the actual application also achieves good effect.7. In order to meet the requirement of the heat milling system to the height of materials in the preheating jar, the Fuzzy-Pi control strategy is adopted to design the control system, and both the simulation investigation and the actual application achieve good effect.
