The Solution Of Visual Object-Relational Database System Prototype-V-ORDBMS

With the development of the Object-Oriented technology,ORDBMS (Object-Oriented DataBase System),which based on the Relational Model,has been one of the most ubiquitous and promising research and application fields in the recent years. As the RDBMS (Relational DataBase System) can hardly adapt the requirement of non-traditional application,such as incompetence of model representation,low system with a combination of 00 language,sematic,model,complex object and database system. It absorts the merit of the OODBMS and The RDBMS,it inherit the mature technology of the RDBMS,on the other hand,it import the technology of the 00,so it can boost up the ability of handle complex object,etc. So,we can say ORDBMS is a new generation of database system,it is the next tidal wave of the Database System developing.First,This paper introduce the development of the ORDBMS.it summarize the concept of the ORDBMS from all angles. Then,we compare the different among the RDBMS,OODBMS,ORDBMS. After analyzing the concept of the ORDBMS and the research instance in foreign country in detail,weprovide the solution of the Visual ORDBMS---V-ORDBMS. We introduce detailly the its designideal,merit,purpose and SQL Language and so on,then we discuss the problem of the design and implement of the V-ORDBMS. Compared with other products,Now,V-ORDBMS,which we are designing,is based on the Relational DataBase System for Windows OS,it extends the abstract data type,such as array,set,structure etc,we solve the store and all sorts of SQL operation for these extended data type. Otherwise,in V-ORDBMS,we provide the solution of how to realize the store of class,inherit,and the mapping of the relation among classes.etc.It provides the visual environment for using. Our works focus on two points:" Visual" and "Object-Relation" . V-ORDBMS inherits the merit of the Relational system and Oriented Object System,the other aim is practicability,so V-ORDBMS has the abroad research future and actual application future. At last,We sum up our work and make a plan for our next works in V-ORDBMS.
