The image object measuring system is a part of photoelectric tracking system on scout .It discussed about the real-time image object tracking DSP(Digital signal process) system,which is high-speed,intelligent and programmable. The system used hight-performance DSP (TMS320C6202) to realize the real-time image object tracking algorithm,used large-scaled programmable logical array CPLD to control logic and field programmable gate array FPGA to preprocessing the image. It also discussed the high-speed digital circuit system design.The thesis discussed the algorithm of image object tracking for complex scene. It studied and adopted two kinds of tracking algorithm which are "center of mass" and "correlation".Threshold segmentation gray-scale image matching and search strategy are discussed .It proved to be a reliable and effective and meeted the request of system basically.
