The Relationship Between Regional Media Communication And Regional Culture

The phenomenon of unbalanced spread and flow between communication and culture is becoming increasingly obvious in our society,where mass communication is fully saturated. This paper follows the disciplines of communication science,anthropology and sociology. It focuses on the administrative region in China and starts the research on the differences between media communication and regional culture communication. It reviews the close relationship between the general laws of mass communication and the expansion and development of local culture,unveils the mechanism of their mutual impact and points out the possible trends of their development.This thesis argues that regional media communication and regional culture are related closely in the age of mass media. They complement and interact with each other. The commercial regional media communication constructed on modern sciences makes the regional culture which uses regional media as communication carrier more and more popular because the characteristics and functions of regional media itself have being changed deeply. Facing with the impact of globalization and the trend of integration and homogeneity in media communication and culture,how to keep their regional features (especially in poor region) and their reciprocal relationships in order to realize localization and multi-dimension in the development between regions and countries,communication and cultures is a practical question in perfecting regional and national images and pushing sound and sustaining development of media communication and culture.The answers given by this paper are:In broad sense,national government should strengthen the strategic considerations in the development between interregional communication and culture;Regional government should stress on promoting the general strength in its domain. From more closed scope,based on correct judgment and appraisal of the relationships between communication and. culture in its domain,regional government should distinguish its own roles and strengthen the balancing and anti-impact capabilities of its own system. It is an inevitable choice for the regional government to facilitate the healthy reciprocal development of regional communication and culture under its objective and selective direction.
