The article has introduced the study background and status of the transversely excited sequence COi laser in brief, and pointed out the important significance in the areas of pumping molecular gas lasers, atmospheric monitoring, elective laser physics and chemistry, and laser spectrum. But it have been obtained output energy equivalent to ~50% of the regular output energy from the same laser. This inability to produce high-energy pulses has greatly limited the utility of sequence lasers. Since there is no report concerned with TEA CO2 sequence laser amplification at home and aboard area so far, we therefore have a theoretical and experimental study.It has shown the operation principle of line-tunable TEA COa sequence laser in this paper, and described the rate equation model of the system, the in-cavity hot cell technique and the grating-tuning theory.In this paper, we have presented the design for the oscillator stage and the amplifier stage of TEA CO2 sequence laser amplification. To the oscillator stage,we have analyzed Ihe output energy dependency of the main parameters of the pressure, the hot cell loss, the output coupling and the excitation energy, and presented the parameters of ours experiment. To the amplifier stage, according to the equation of the traveling-wave amplification, we have extracted the theoretical prediction for the pulse energy and pulse width through calculated.This paper has presented the technique for simultaneous discharge used in the TEA COi sequence laser amplification. According to the experimental results, we have analyzed the problems encountered during the implement of simultaneous discharge such as the coupling of the two main discharge circuits and implementing terms of the simultaneous triggering, and pointed out the relevant solutions such as triggering discharger on over-voltage conditions, decreasing the two main discharge circuits' inductance, and clearing up its coupling.In this paper, we have discussed the cause of parasitic oscillation in the tunable TEA COa sequence laser amplifier. A method for suppressing the regular bands parasitic oscillation caused in the sequence laser amplification by placing a glaring grating is introduced. The experiment has proved the method is efficient and executable. At the same time, we have a preliminary study on the superradiance phenomenon in the course of the amplification and the supenadiance output intensity line breadth and pulse width are calculated in the gross and analyzed theoretically.
