By the development of Internet,Electronic commerce is changing the way we access and purchase information,communicate and pay for services. To make the wide applications of electronic commerce,security is the problem that has been solved firstly. In this thesis,we analysed the main factors that influence the security and compared the different protocols used in electronic commerce,then gave the measures to solve the problems. Electronic commerce will rely on cryptography to ensure message confidentiality.Cryptography is one of the key technologys to protect confidential information as it is transmitted from one location to another. There are two primary encryption methods in use today:symmetric-key cryptography and public-key cryptography. You can choose different encipher algorithms according to requirement. AES is a symmetric block cipher that can process data blocks of 128 bits,using cipher keys with lengths of 128,192and 256 bits. Because the length of block and key has been expanded,security has been enhanced. AES will take the place of DES and become new standard of encryption. We programmed the source code for the algorithm in VC and gave the result. Hash function is another methods that ensure integrality of data and guarantee that message content is not altered during the transmission between the riginator and the recipient. So we advanced a new construction of hash function on the base of implementing AES-128.
