Research on tyre noise begins with the cooperative project between Automation Institute of Wuhan University of Technology and Shanghai Rubber Group. With the further research on tyre pattern noise, lower noise tyre pattern analysis and designing software made by us intrigues tyre industry and relative research unit more strongly, and they not only show their cooperative tendency, but make more demands on high intelligence of software.Based on the basic principle of tyre pattern noise controlling, measurement approach of tyre noise, frequently used charts and simulation model are introduced, some computation formulas are derived and testified. Emphasis is placed on the studying of tyre pattern noise controlling from the following aspects: noise reduction optimization theory, intelligent optimization approaches and comprehensive noise intelligent diagnosis, etc.Two main approaches to measure tyre noise is introduced, indoor drum-rolling measurement and outdoor yard measurement. The former is eligible to noise research, and the latter could reflect noise pollution to environment. According to the academic fruit of my tutor and his graduated students on tyre pattern noise simulation analysis, the previous algorithms are perfected and testified.Research on intelligent noise reduction optimization and comprehensive noise diagnosis is the emphases of this paper. After analyzed the basic principle of optimized noise reduction on tyre pattern, summarized three approaches to noise reduction. The first is trying to reduce size of single block or socket to reduce noise amplitude on time domain, the second is to adjust stripes sorting order and their interlace value to avoid noise-made by every single block-peak values on time domain overlayed and the last is to adjust ratio of blocks and sockets, ratio of stripe interval and stripe sorting order to avoid noise periodical distribution and abnormal high peak values in some frequency strip. Based on above, we proposed the intelligently optimized and comprehensive diagnosis approach-genetic algorithm(GA)-based intelligently optimized diagnosis algorithm which is introduced in detail in this paper. Following basic theory and approach about GA, optimized objective function is decided through fuzzy logic theory, then fitness function is derived and at last how to optimize and diagnose pattern parameters intelligently is discussed with GA, including coding approach, interlace, probability selection and single copy of optimizing parameters.Based on our cooperative engineer, intelligent optimization and noise diagnosis processes are discussed and diagrammized in the software designing.The research fruit and software in this paper is strongly applicable to practical engineer, and its highly intelligent optimization and diagnosis ability provide high effective approach for lower noise tyre designing and production.
