| The development and the recent status of the ditributed optical fiber sensing technology, especially the distributed optical fiber sensing technology based on Brillouin scattering has been discussed. Combining the emphasis of the subject , the spontaneous Brillouin scattering in fiber and its sensing mechanism have been analyzed deeply in theory. On the basis of theoretical discussion, a new distributed optical fiber temperature and tensile sensing system has been advanced and part of experiment has been completed.
