PCI local bus, which is widely used for its high performance, is one of the most competitive bus criterions for software radio technique. This dissertation focuses on the hardware design of software radio with the aim to solve the problem of producing and receiving space-time modulation signals. The author designed a PCI card, which introduced the broadband intermediate-frequency band-pass sampling software radio structure based on PCI bus. A special PCI controlling chipæ¡ŸY7C09449PV produced by Cypress Corporation was used here for PCI interface design. In order to control all the required logical parts on the PCI card, the author used one CPLD to design a global logic controller by Verilog HDL. A virtual device driver (VXD) for the card had to be designed to make the PCI card work well in Win9X operating system. Also, a Win32 application program was designed by MFC for the convenience of PC terminal users. In the stage of system debugging, the author used a microcomputer single chip to program an EEPROM according to I"C bus criterion. The card supports DMA transfer mode and the DMA speed result was given at the end of the dissertation.
