As the spreading of the Internet and the renovating of the technology of the modern information gathering, the information is growing thousands times of the growth of the population in the world. In many cases, the problem is: how to choose the favorable information. Now, QBIC (Query By Image Content) is adopted to deal with this problem. QBIC is querying goal image from image database by likely features. The features mean color, texture, shape and so on. In this paper, The key technology of QBIC is studied. The main aspects dealt with this paper are structured as follows:1. Introduction the demand of the QBIC and the current QBIC technology and future development.2. Preprocess of image before QBIC (including removal of noise and sharpening of image and so on).Mainly introducing the feature of the noise, the origin of the noise, model of the noise , Median filtering and equilibrium of the gray .3. Studying the distilling the feature of the image(color, texture and shape).Mainly studying the method of how to distill the feature of theimage. Including edge-detected, histogram, analysis of the texture andanalysis of the shape.4. Studying the basic method of feature-matched. Mainly studying the intersecting of the histogram , texture matching by Gauss method and shape matching by Gauss method.5. Analyzing the result of the system.
