Data Mining Technology And Its Application In Data Mart

Data mining tools are widely used to solve real-world problems in engineering, science and business. This paper introduces the concept of Data Mining and its relationship with Data Warehouse, Data Mart and Data Mine. The difference between OLAP and Data Mining is presented. Association Rule, Rough Set and Extension Information are particularly discussed, where some simple cases are provided: To Association Rule and Extension Information, the subjects relationship of students is discussed; to Rough Set and Extension Information, the symptoms of fever are analyzed. A typical material department in a large-scale cooperation is used as a model to build the data mart, where the store patterns of data, OLAP to access the data are respectively discussed and Decision Tree, Association Rules and Web mining are applied to find what are valuable to assist the decision.We say technology is promoted by the development of society and the real-world applications. During the study of the Data Mining, we realize the particular importance of combination of Data Mining technology and the real-world problems. The results of Data Mining are used to assist the decision men, so the influence is great, positively or negatively.
