EDXRF(Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence) is widely used in some fields, such as metallurgy, geognosy, coalfield, material, environment, archeology, custom and so forth. With the development of semiconductor detector and computer, the EDXRF has made great development. A new software system of EDXRF was discussed in this paper, which includes the system analysis and design, spectrum analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis and so on. A novel system analysis method that combines the advantage of Object- Oriented , Structural and rapidly Prototyping method is used in this system. In the respect of spectrum analysis, a matching filter coming form the signal process theory is used here to smooth the spectrum. An orthogonalized method is used to improve the robust of Least-Square algorithm. There are some progresses in this software system than before: simplifying the interaction of man-computer, enhancing the stability of the system, simplifying the data manage and query by using the database, and with more reasonable choose analysis method, the analysis result is more precision and credibility.
