Sense of Community (SOC) which is a popular topic in the study of western community psychology was firstly proposed by American community psychologists. In recent years, it's influence spread around the world that psychologists of Europe, South America and Asia started studying SOC, and some domestic researchers began to concern about the study of SOC that was just at initial stage. Basing on the interpretation of SOC literature, this study attempt to revise the SOC index (second edition) and to carry out an empirical study on group of college students, investigating their level of SOC and revealing relationship between SOC and related psychology parameter.Via the questionnaire on about 800 college students, author found the following conclusions.1,The revised《College Student Sense of Community Index》scale has good psychometric characteristics, and it can evaluate SOC of college students. Cronbach's alpha of the total scale is 0.864 and of each factor from 0.619 to 0.799. Split-half reliability is 0.832. Test-retest reliability is 0.764. Scale-dimensional traffic analysis and the empirical validity is satisfying, but the Construct Validity is not ideal.2,The score of total scale and four factors are better than the middle level. The result of SOC of college students shows that freshman at the top, sophomore at the bottom and junior student slightly rebound in time. The score of freshman is significant higher than the score of sophomore and junior student. In other demographic variables, there are significant difference in sex, major and post(class or school). However, in the regression analysis of community, only major and post enter into the regression equation which suggests that in demography variables major and post have significant impact on SOC. 3,SOC of college students has a positive correlation with GWB and self-efficacy while has a negative correlation with aloneness. Divided SOC into higher group and lower group, the result shows that higher group has higher GBW level and self-efficacy level but lower aloneness lever than lower group.4,SOC of college students has a direct impact on GWB, self-efficacy and aloneness. Aloneness plays a role in the effect of SOC for GWB as a partly mediator, and GWB plays a role in the effect of SOC for self-efficacy as a partly mediator.
