The Expression Of Village Public Space

This paper focuses on Wenchanggong, which is the village home field of public space. By going down the evolution of Wenchanggong and taking Wenchanggong as the vehicle of village temple festivals,weddings and funerals, according to the emendations of state social control on rural area and changes in daily life of villagers, it points out that the change of village public space is caused by the impact of external forces, in which the impact and changes reconstruct rural social order as well. However, it is not a passive process. Villages in the face of external shocks are likely to choose some of their own adaptation processes. To study the changing of village public space represents some attempts to probe a rural community's identity and its integration. The paper can be mainly divided into three parts:First of all, the foundation of being and developing for Wenchanggong——Zhongyi village's natural,humanity environment, and the economy. It overviews Wenchanggong as village public space, between the state and society both parties coexist there with their own characteristics and logic. Next, the macro-expression of Wenchanggong. In this part, the writer analyzes the national forces influencing Han groups'access to resources and distribution of power in Zhongyi village, and in turn as the object how they adapt and function in the grand space. On the other hand, the micro-expression of Wenchanggong is associated with the analysis of paradigm and theory on social relations, discussing Han people group's weddings and funerals in Zhongyi village. It not only investigates the causes of Han group's existing network, but also pays attention to the future expansion of its network of relationships and the impact of market economy. Meanwhile, the paper points out the role of these causes and impact always have effects on the Han group in social interaction, and also produce a dialectical function on the reproduction of relationship. Last but not least, in the social transformation and breaking period, as descendants of Han population under a variety of political, cultural and social factors'influence, self-identity is also at risk. From the Wenchanggong to the culture square, they not only construct the space of folk in eyes of the public, interpret the process of developing and transition of the village public space in rural society, and play a unique role as well. To care about these civil ceremonies and life organization can draw useful lessons for rural modernization construction.
