80s Chinese postgraduates in America are educated and intellectual elites born in China from1980 to1989 who are pursuing further studies in the U.S.A after completing domestic nine-year compulsory education, high school and college education. A study on the Chinese 80s postgraduates in the U.S.A is carrying great theoretic and practical importance. With the 80s Chinese postgraduates in America as the research topic, the thesis adopts deep interviews and information collecting as the fundamental research method, and explores the features of the current patriotic state of these 80s Chinese postgraduates in America.The thesis is based on the research of the deep interviews with 12 80s Chinese postgraduates in America. In the article, the patriotic ideologies of interviewers are summarized as follows: first, patriotism is a sense of belonging; second, patriotism requires actions; third, patriotism demands rationality; fourth, overseas experience does not affect patriotic ideology; fifth, patriotic education should adopt various practice and methods.Meantime, the article draws also several conclusions as follows: the patriotic ideology of 80s Chinese postgraduates in America presents consistency in their patriotism before and after studying overseas; their patriotic ideology shows mainstream that fits domestic patriotic conceptions and requirements, while appears criticism towards current social problems; 80s Chinese postgraduates in America assert the practicability of protecting benefit and dignity of the motherland and providing resolutions for troubled people by personal endeavor; they exhibit egocentrism as a starting point for their patriotism and take on the features from the era they live in.In addition, three constructive proposals regards to the domestic patriotism are as follows: bring the role of culture into patriotic education; perform patriotic education with real and full-scale reality; achieve the goal of patriotic education through imperceptible approaches.
