With the continuous deepening and reform of China's higher education system, the process of popularization of higher education also will be accelerated, but there always exists the question: A difference between men and women at investment and quantity of enrollment in higher education, which cause the main reason for the phenomenon is that the most people pay more attention to investment for men's higher education, and consider men's earnings higher than women. So it neglects women's higher education investment and return problems.This paper discusses the various theories around issue of gender differences in the investment and return of higher education, as following work: The first part, the main issues to be studied is to identify, and indicated ideas and methods of this research. The second part, it comments that domestic and foreign higher education theory of investment and return from the nature of higher education theory, human capital theory, investment and return of education and investment and profits of higher education to gender differences in investment and return of higher education. Third part reviewed changes and trends of domestic and foreign investment and profits of higher education, which conduct a comparative research of gender differences, and build a status and solutions to the gender differences of investment and profits in higher education for further analysis that based on return on investment for higher education. As well as, it summarizes experiences for comparing and analysis investment and profits of higher education abroad. The fourth section, it analyses that based on empirical measurement of undergraduate students who gender differences invested and earn in Shanxi University of Finance and Economics in the year of 2000 , and pointed out the existing problems; Last but not least, it puts forward to deepen reform of higher education, strengthens higher education in investment and profits measures, and proposes that policy recommendations that construct China's women's investment and return of higher education and further improve gender differences'investment and profits of higher education.
