Research On Pingding Guanshan College Of Shanxi Province In Qing Dynasty

Guanshan Academy is located in southeast of Pingding,and is the most time-honored College in Pingding,furthermore,Pingding is located in east of Shanxi, west of Taihang Mountain, and is the one of important channel in Shan'xi and Hebei Province. Pingding has flourishing education and culture, has good grades in imperial examinations of every dynasty, and Guanshan Academy plays an important role. Taking Guanshan Academy, which is located in Pingding of Shanxi, as the researching target, the author conducted a thorough and detailed investigation and description. As a little College in a more backward inland area, it differs from other well-known ones and government-run schools of foreign affairs, its development has its own characteristics. This paper focuses on the revolution and management of Colleges in the late Qing Dynasty, combining with the changes at that time, examining the Guanshan Academy's responses to the country's policy and the trend. This is the focus of the full text, and is also the innovation of this paper.This article consists of four parts, the first part introduced the Guanshan Academy'establishment in the Song and Yuan Dynasty. The amount of books given by the court made it nearly the largest College in Shanxi. In the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, College was destroyed by the war until it was reestablished in the Ming Dynasty. However, College was under the control of the government, and the College is going through the tortuous process. The second part examines the features of College in the early stage of Qing Dynasty. The College was constantly expanded from the mountain to the foot mountais,had both the symbolic meaning and actual function.The third part investigates the College's important status in Pingding,and the good grades and Chongxiantang reflected College's importance in education.The fourth part analyzes the Collge revolution made by the Pinding's administrator of Zhou—Ge Shida in the late Qing Dynasty. He brought western books and western culture into the College, trying to cultivate more talents who adapted for the society and time. It promoted the modernization of Pinding's education and culture of course.In short, as to College, a special kind of ancient Chinese cultural and educational organization,based on the regional-research method, this paper clearly and logically describes the historical track of Guanshan College. Through the case study, the author examined the interaction between College and society culture, analyzed how the ideology was expressed in that time, namely, how the local features were embodied. This is the core for researching the Guanshan College.
