Since the reform and opening up,adult education in agricultural and forestry universities has made great achievements in China,especially made great contributions to the building of a socialist economy and culture with Chinese characteristics. At present,China's adult education in agricultural and forestry universities faces a series of major challenges,such as the establishment of study-oriented society,the impact of popularization of higher education and transformation from traditional agriculture to modem agriculture and so on. Therefore,it is imperative for the adult education researchers to explore the conflict between the China's adult education in agricultural and forestry universities and the current social development,and on this basis to probe the reform,development and innovation of adult education in agricultural and forestry universities. But in a stricter sense,the study on the reform of China's adult education in agricultural and forestry universities is just emerging , with the isolated and single theoretical framework and solutions, which lacks systematic and common sense. On the basis of a variety of literatures, the field investigation and referring to related scholars'research achievements both at home and abroad,the study tries to push forward the systemic research of the reform , development and innovation of present China's adult education in agricultural and forestry universities,and makes an active exploration in the theory and practice of building of China's adult education in agricultural and forestry universities.The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction , which mainly illustrates the background and significance of this paper,the present status and existing problems of research at home and abroad. On the above basis,it introduces the framework,main contents and innovative points of the research.The second chapter,from the angle of educational history,reviews the adult education in agricultural and forestry universities in China,and on this basis,carries out the classification research on educational institution,operating mode,educational level and major setting of the adult education in agricultural and forestry universities in China through the method of investigation and analysis,and finally concludes the reasons for the great achievements of China's 30 years of adult education in agricultural and forestry universities.The third chapter carries out in-depth exploration of the external challenges and internal problems in the process of development of China's adult education in agricultural and forestry universities.The fourth chapter, from the strategy of the future development of adult education in agricultural universities, puts forward the following practices: refer to the international advanced experience, introduce education marketization, and carry out marketing for adult education in agricultural universities, which will serve as the reform and development practice and beneficial attempt of innovative theory in ordinary colleges as well as the whole adult education to promote the benign development of adult education in agricultural universities.The fifith chapter, on the basis of the intensive study of development trend in the world adult education, points out the development direction of China adult education in agricultural universities in the process of construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics.The research,adhering to analysis with the combination of historical materialism and dialectical materialism, adopts the integration of theory with practice,the survey and data analysis in a comprehensive way,and by attaching great importance to the development trend of adult education around the world,explores the innovative reform of adult education in agricultural and forestry universities in conformity with the trend of the times and social development.
