The Path-Study Of The Ecological Ethics Education In Chinese College And University

For centuries after the Industrial Revolution, we human beings have been regarding ourselves to be the"master of nature". We have been exploiting natural resources without control, and destroying the ecological environment, which brings about consequences like shortage of water resources, biological diversity losses, acceleration of desertification, sharp reduction of forest area, and frequent natural disasters. The deteriorating ecological environment has posed a huge threat to people's production and life, and has also led to serious global ecological crisis and survival crisis. The reality of the ecological crisis is a crisis of humanity. To overcome the ecological crisis, we must first get rid of the shackles of desire and greed. When people come to realize the seriousness of the ecological crisis, they will begin to re-examine the relationship between man and nature. People have changed the traditional "anthropocentrism" ideology, and are actively seeking a new "life picture" where man and nature live in harmony. Therefore, a new ethic, the Ecological Ethics, comes into being. With the rise of global eco-environmental movement, environmental education has gradually attracted people's attention, based on which the ecological ethics education is shaped.As mankind has entered the 21st century, "protection of the environment and pursuit of development" has become the main theme of the times. In order to protect the ecosystem and human's own living space, to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development, ecological ethics education under the new circumstances can not be evaded. Colleges and universities as the sacred palace hall spreading advanced ideas and civilization and cultivating the talents are bound to undertake the important task of providing the "eco-friendly talents"for the society in eco-ethics education. Today's college students are the backbones for the future socialist economic construction. If they can foster a sense of eco-environmental protection and develop ecological and ethical behaviors, they will have a profound impact on and can set a good example for the society's eco-environmental protection, social harmony, and the sustained and healthy development. Therefore, colleges and universities need to strengthen the eco-ethical education to contemporary college students in order to strengthen their eco-ethical sense as the mainstay for future scientific and technological innovation. Theoretical system of eco-ethics education includes a wide range of content. Although experts and scholars in many areas have studied the ecological environment from different angles, they have accomplished little success. The author believes that, "prescribing specific remedies" is the most important ways and means for ethics education in colleges and universities. Therefore, we need to conduct a careful analysis and profound research on path of ethics education in colleges and universities to improve its effectiveness. From this research point of view, this article has made some attempts and explorations.
