Local curriculum is a kind of independent developing and managing course which established by local organization through using local course resources according to the requirements of curriculum administration policy of the state as well as the requirements of politics, economy, culture and students of native place. Local curriculum intends to make sure that national courses can accommodate to different regions. Bring local curriculum into courses management system can arouse teacher's enthusiasm to participate in curriculum decision. In addition, it also can make local course resources function positively.Handan city is a famous ancient city, where possesses abundant excellent course resources of historical culture. Generally speaking, great biographies are placed in an important position in historical culture. Therefore,"historical great biographies in Handan"should be brought into local curriculum. Thus, it can not only transmit excellent cultural traditions, but also benefits to cultivate one's taste, enrich one's knowledge, enhance students'sense of identity of culture and improve their linguistic literacy.First of all, this thesis pays much more attention to analyze the value and feasibility of the development of local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan". Then, the author starts to construct local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan"basing on curriculum theories which include curricular objectives, curricular content, curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation. The purpose of this paper is to provide a complete operation for the development of local curriculum through developing local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan".This thesis is divided into six chapters:Introduction focuses on the reason why author chooses this topic, the current situation of the project and the research ideas. Chapter one firstly analyzes"historical great biographies in Handan"are most valuable asset in Chinese traditional culture through analyzing the era distribution, contribution and influence of"historical great biographies of Handan". Then, it mainly studies that exploiting local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan"makes great contributions to improve linguistic literacy, advance teachers'faculty development and promote social development of Handan.Chapter two mainly argues the policy and theory basis, practical foundation and human factors in the process of developing local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan".Chapter three set up a detailed target for local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan". Basic requirements of this task: basing on development of students, close to time life, highlighting local characteristics and reflecting characteristics of language course.Chapter four discusses language knowledge and cultural connotation in local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan". Further, it also proposes a mode for writing textbook.Chapter five demonstrates curriculum implementation from suggested teaching methods and assessment commendations. In suggested teaching methods, teaching requirement of local curriculum of"historical great biographies in Handan"are analyzed. Moreover, it also provides four types of teaching style for teachers: learning and appreciation, developing research, practice experience and thesis supervision. In assessment commendations, it mainly argues that integrative principle, scientific principle, pluralism principle and developmental principle must be followed in the process of assessment. In addition, the content of assessment is discussed carefully in assessment commendations.
