Study On Design Of The Space In Culture Places On University Campus In Xi'an

As an important part of university culture, campus culture contributes a lot to the sustainable development of the university. Unfortunately, the reform of higher education and economic development have also given rise to some problems when benefit society:the divergence from its original path of the development; the overall loss of academic atmosphere characteristic of the University on campus. Therefore,the study of university culture and the role that the space of campus culture plays counts much for the development of universities in Xi'an.The study aims to refine features of campus culture, focus on the accumulation, bring university culture back to the right road and makes it indispensable for the space on campus.Also the research intends to find some approaches to mould an ideal university culture through a study of problems in the space on campus in Xi'anWith the aid of environmental psychology, environment behavior study, consciousness phenomenology, urban sociology, architecture, landscape supposes the economics, this study views the problem from the perspective of urban planning and design and tries to:First, have a preliminary understanding of and define university culture and space of culture places; Next:From function district, spatial structure angle analyze the space of culture places; research the ingredients of campus culture and trace factors related to the evolution in these places;Third:select all the three representative colleges and universities in Xi'an as the object to conduct field research, analyze the conditions and features of forming the places of campus culture. Fourth:summarize and predict methods of forming culture places on university campus in Xi'an through the analysis of the investigation and study. Finally, the paper concludes that:First, universities in Xi'an have some culture places on campus but they are far from enough. Second, a reasonable plan is the most important part in designing the spaces of culture places in universities in Xi'an. Third:The introduction of university culture is the key to building these culture places. Fourth, human's participation is the core in creating an atmosphere. Fifth, these places should be multi-functional, sustainable and open.
