The History And Reality Of P.E. Exchange To Taiwan

Since ancient times, Taiwan is an indispensable part of China. Due to some historical reasons, the relationship between China and Taiwan is isolate in politics and opposite in military. Consequently, political, economic, and culture exchanges are seriously hindered across Taiwan straits. And this further exacerbates the estrangement of people across Taiwan straits. Taiwan plays an important role from the point of international strategies. To China, Taiwan is the natural barriers to China's southeast coastal economic belt. It plays in indispensable part in both coast defence and marine rights of China. It is not only the breakthrough into China of foreign forces, but also the most important foreland of China's national security and opening policy. Therefore, the unification process is not only important to China's peace and stability, but also will affect the Asian-Pacific's peace and stability. Both the prosperous of China's economy and the development process of globalization of economy will be seriously impact by the unification process. At the same time, cultural exchange also helps the integrity and diversity of Chinese traditional culture while accelerates the development process of world-wide culture. Thus, the enhancement of P.E. exchange will contribute a lot to China form the point of international strategy development.In order to alleviate the political relationship across Taiwan straits, the Chinese government abandoned the way to unify with Taiwan with force since 1970s to accelerate the pace of unification."Message to Compatriots in Taiwan", published in 1979, was considered as the beginning of this process followed with"Nine advocated peaceful reunification (proposed by Ye Jianying)","Six specific ideas to achieve the peaceful reunification of Taiwan and the mainland China (proposed by Deng Xiaopeng)"and"Eight proposals to promote the complete reunification of the motherland continues to struggle (proposed by Jiang Zeming)". All these proved that the Chinese government provides a healthy political environment in order to improve the relationship across Taiwan straits and further achieve the standpoint and declaration of reunification.Since the break of stalemate by"Olympic model"in 1979, more than 30 years of P.E. exchange not only achieved some fruitful results, but also ease up the relationship across straits at some extent. This accumulates some useful experience for further exchange. The openness of strategies provides superb environment for P.E. exchange and can be considered as the basic reason for cross-straits exchange. The exchange between Fujian province and Taiwan is the break point and its advantages should be highlighted. The reunification is the main trend and the strong desire of reunification is the indirect stimuli for P.E. exchange. Consequently, all those valuable experience can be used to help the development of cross-straits P.E. exchange in later days.This paper is concentrated on providing some new ideas to strengthen the cross-straits P.E. exchange and provide the development of exchange with more beneficial strategies under the context of China's peaceful growing up in order to better direct the development of cross-straits exchange into a better, more prosperous way and contribute to reunification.The method of document, logical analysis and historical method are used in this paper. Firstly, the history of cross-straits P.E. exchange is analyzed, reviewed and summarized. The P.E. exchange is observed and its value to both China and world are presented from the point of national strategy development. Based on the summary of past experiences, the political, economical and social cultural relationships were analyzed in order to provide P.E. exchange with practical foundation and, consequently, provide strategy mechanism under the condition of China's peaceful growing up.The research results show that: (1) the strength of P.E. exchange will not only benefit politics, economy and culture, but also helps the process of reunification and national security while accelerate the development of China's physics and provide China with sustainable services. (2) The cross-straits political relationship keeps steady development under the peaceful national environment. Problems do exist, however, the on-going direction is unchanged for political relationship. Accompanied by the policy judgment from both the mainland China and Taiwan, the economy of both sides is prosperous. The cultural exchange also has some fruitful achievement, however, it far from been satisfied. (3) Under the China's peaceful growing up, the following measurements can be done to strength the P.E. exchange: the peaceful and friendly development of China's foreign affairs, combined with the combat to"Taiwan independence"force, will further provide us with health national political environment; the political relationship should be keep health development and create peaceful and stable political environment for cross-straits P.E. exchange; the development from china's P.E. big nation to strong nation should be accelerated, the people's health and living conditions should be improved and this is accord with the fundamental benefits of exchange. The following specific measurements are included: Openness, to help the development of cross-straits P.E. exchange; the highlights of deep communication between both theoretical and scientific areas to help the vertical development of exchange; the construction of sports laws and regulations; the highlights of traditional sports exchange; further use of Fujian-Taiwan P.E. exchange to help deep exchange; the settlement of conflicts and difficulties based on the principles of peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit.
