Process Reenginess And Optimizationg Of Management Procedures For Univercity Teaching Management

Business Proeess Reengineering(BPR, hereafter referred to as BPR) is "the thorough consideration and reconstruction of Enterprise Business Processes", whose aim is "to improve signifieantly in such aspects as cost, quality, service and efficiency." Through the adoption of BPR, the businesses of enterprises are re-positioned, the complexity and duplication of business processes are reduced, core business processes are streamlined, so that the simplification and optimization of business processes are aehieved.The birth of BPR has put forward a great challenge to universities whose teaching management approaches have been traditionally based on the theory of division of labor. At the same time, the continuous development of information technology has brought fundamental changes in the means of teaching management. Along with the changes come the opportunities of redesigning university teaching management processes and establishing a new teaching management system. Universities should take their opportunities to carry out teaching management process reengineering.The theory of BPR is a totally new management theory, It can guide the deepen, reform of teaching management. In this paper, the theory of BPR is evaluated:the basic thought, principles, method and processes of BPR are analyzed:and the relationship between BPR and informatization is described. Then the paper also analyzes the status of teaching management in China's mordern universities arid display their problems. And from the process perspective reveals the causes for these problems. On this base it builds an University Teaching Management Process Reengineering framework by using our university as an example, puts forward a systematic way to reconstruct teaching managemen. Finally, this essay, in accordance with the requirements of the University Teaching Management Process Reengineering framework, basing on the description of processes, process analysis and diagnosis, process design and implementation, builds new teaching management systems for universities, and optimize the nonvalue sectors, to simplify the process, shorten the time, reduce the cost and improve the efficiency.Compared with enterprise BPR, BPR application in universities is not so mature. This essay explores the Teaching Management Proeess Reengineering in universities, hopes to offer some suggestions in improving the quality of teaching management in universities.
