The high middle school entrance exam is the second examination system formulated since the reinstitution of college entrance exam in our country, which is carried out in different regions and cities. It is only a selective test in the nine-year compulsory education system, which both can check the teaching effect of nine-year compulsory education and is a high middle school entrance exam for the junior middle students. It is deeply more and more concerned by the students and the society. As a front-line mathematics teacher in Hohhot junior middle school, I am greatly concerned about the test trend, directive function and corresponding measures on mathematics test for the high middle school entrance, so I made a study on the mathematics tests from 2005 to 2009 for Hohhot high middle school entrance exam. On the basis of making a statistics of distribution of test types and score value, key points and score value and test question type of Hohhot High Middle School Entrance Exam from 2005 to 2009, and then analyzing and comparing the test content and test mode, the following conclusion is drawn: the test type of mathematics test for high middle school entrance from 2005 to 2009 is almost same, and the knowledge points checked is relatively stable; the test modes is diversifying, and the test is tending to application, openness and diversification; the focus and difficulties is deftly shifting to the check of comprehensive ability, contextually dependent learning and practical capacity; the concept of"two basics"of mathematics and its connotation needs to be developed, teaching target shall be relocated, the reform of teaching modes is extremely urgent, and the role of teachers in the teaching needs be changing; the habit of study and thinking of students should also be altered, and the initiative and creation in learning is obviously becoming necessary. In addition, this article also discusses the importance of analysis on the test result, and gives some suggestions to the test programming group and administration departments.
