Because of kinds of reasons, the number of orphan is becoming larger and larger in our country. Orphan students become a special group that we cannot neglect, and the teaching for orphans is more worth of our attention. Against their problems and the performance in math studying, by means of the survey of junior middle school orphan students, I found , (1) students'math grades are not good and the basis of math studying is uneven.(2) The habit of math studying is not good. (3) Being lack of initiative. (4) The interest of math studying is weak. (5) In the course of math studying, students'conversation between classmates and the teacher is little. For this condition, I pull in the keeping making math teaching diary method in math teaching, that's to say, to ask students to write down what they learned, thought, met and feel puzzled. After one year's experiment, by means of analyzing the changes of students'grades, the changes of their evaluation to math diary, the differences that they behaved in keeping making math diary, and my analysis to the different interview results of different level students, then I found that keeping making math diary may help orphan students who have thin basis, bad habit, weak interest in these following ways,1. Keeping making math diary excluded students'psychological barrier in studying math in some way, and it eased the psychological problems'influence on math studying.2. Keeping making math diary changes students'motivation and aim to studying math, and improve the interest of studying math as well as enthusiasm. At the same time, it changes students'attitude of nothing is serious to math, so it strengthens the initiative of studying math, and students are never so that lazy.3. Keeping making math diary offers the reflection opportunity that they hardly had before. This helps them to reflect the problems that they met and what they cannot solve as well as what they are lack during studying math. Also, this develops the habit of students'reflection.4. Keeping making math diary helps students realize that teaching is necessary and find out that math lives everywhere n life, also, it helps students acquaint math and find out the advantages of learning math, so that students are more interested in thinking over math problems. Therefore, teachers improve students'ability of discovering and solving problems, and develop their positive math studying emotion and good studying habits5. Keeping math diary offers proper comment manners for math teaching and makes orphan students more confident.6. Keeping making math diary builds a bridge between the hearts of students and teachers. Therefore, carrying out the keeping making math diary teaching method in orphan school is feasible, besides, it has more sense.
