A Research On Development Situation And Countermeasures Of Badminton In Suzhou Vocational Colleges

with the fast development of nationwide fitness, badminton activities, as one of the traditional sport activities in China, are favored by people for many features. And with the popularity of badminton activities, badminton has become one of vocational college students' favorite sports.By adopting literature consultation, questionnaires and mathematical statistics, this paper made a research on the development situation of badminton with PE teachers and students of eight vocational colleges in Suzhou as research objects, and analyzed different aspects such as the course system, teachers, facilities, clubs, trainings and competitions, and participating situation. Through analysis, the paper points out the existing problems and puts forward countermeasures, providing a theoretical basis for further promotion and sustainable development of badminton in Suzhou vocational colleges.Study results are as follows:1. Badminton is popular among vocational students in Suzhou and they have certain knowledge of badminton. Their purposes of participation are diverse and they have different means in getting relative information.2. Badminton course set-up rate is high and the number of students selecting the course is large. But the satisfaction with the course is low.3. Professional teachers are few and their education, professional title and research level is low. Moreover, they also have fewer chances of further training or education.4. The field and facilities of playing badminton are insufficient, which can it meet the needs of teaching and carry-out of badminton.5. The situation of vocational college badminton teams are not satisfying and the training is not systematic. Badminton clubs lack in effective management and communication and competitions are not enough among vocational colleges.6. The situation of college teachers participating in badminton is comparatively better. Countermeasures:1. To strengthen the propaganda of badminton through campus network, broadcasting, posters and college newspapers to get more attention from the leaders.2. To improve the set-up of badminton field and invest more in the filed and facilities of badminton.3. To encourage teachers to participate in badminton and support them with further training to improve their professional skills.4. To optimize course system, focusing on cultivating students (?) interest and the concept of life-long fitness.5. To pay attention to the set-up and training of badminton teams; to improve the organization and management of badminton clubs and competition rules; to participate in all kinds of competitions and activities actively; to create good badminton atmosphere.
