In this paper, through questionnaires and interviews on the situation of education for the aged in Hefei, the development of education for the aged and the existing problems in Hefei were investigated, analyzed and discussed. On this basis, proposed some suggestions for the development of education for the aged in Hefei.Based on introducing the background of this thesis to study the meanings and purposes, the status and the development trend in inland and at abroad, the main theories and the research methods, and the innovation of this paper. The concept of the aging of population and the education for the aged involved in this paper were defined and analyzed. Then, under the background of the rise and the development of the aging of population in our country, introduce the development and characteristics of the aging of population in Anhui province; analyze the rise, development and existing problems of education for the aged in Anhui province. Under the background of the aging of population in Anhui province intensified, analyze the need for the development of education for the aged in Hefei:The development of education for the aged in Hefei is the need for the aging of population rapidly growing; It is also an important part to build the life-long education system in Hefei; It can further promote the harmonious development of Hefei; It can promote the realization of the healthy aging in Hefei; It can meet the rights and needs of the elderly in Hefei; and it can promote the development of education for the aged in the other cities and counties in Anhui province.On the basis of interviews and surveys, analyze the low and the causes of the concepts of education for the aged in Hefei; the lack and the causes of the funding of education for the aged; the narrowing of the content and the causes of the activities of education for the aged; a single form and the causes of education for the aged; the lack of qualified teachers and causes of education for the aged; educational facilities and equipment are not complete and the causes,and community education for the aged has not yet started largely and the causes.
