During adolescence to mature,some psychological abnormal tendency always appears, such as loneliness, irritability, stubbornness, low self-esteem, conceited, frivolous or envy,because individual psychology has not yet mature. The college students are in the special period of life, at the same time some other psychological stress like academic, employment, interpersonal relationship, love trouble, that easy to dislocate the role, and then cause the psychological problems. The goal of education is educating people complete personalities, in which the most urgent is solving the college students'psychological problems. According to sum up the status of domestic and international research in this area, elaborate the relationship between physical education and mental health, using of teaching experiments, literature, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics to research and experimental analysis.The 2008 first-year undergraduate students of Dalian University of Technology are chosen as the main target of this research, and the major research content is the varied dimensional effects of various physical education courses on the college students'mental health. This paper focuses on studying the ten different dimensional effects of various physical education courses on college students'mental health and the varied effects of different education courses on the college students'mental health of different gender, to research the relationship between various physical education courses and college students' mental health levels.Experiment of this study is to analyse and compare the mental health of college students horizontally and vertically of four different types of physical education courses. Different training groups according to:basketball group which Physical contact of antagonistic big ball games project, swimming group which is water Sports, badminton group which is small ball sports of net and shadowboxing group which is national sports. In the experiment, the targets college students of four different types of physical education courses are random, because dividing into different training groups are their interests. The four training groups are similar in training intensity and the same in the duration of each training and the number of the training every week. The experiment lasted for one year and two measurements of the mental health are conducted before and after the experiment.The results of this experiment showed that all these four different physical education courses exerted certain influences on the mental health of college students, and each training course would influence varied dimensions of the mental health in different degree. The same physical education courses exerted the different influences on the mental health of college students with different gender. Each training course had its effect to improve some dimension better.According to the experiment, the conclusion is that:College physical education had well improved the mental health of college students, different training courses effect differently for students with different levels of the mental health. Therefore, it provides some reference for the varied kinds of mental health students to choose the appropriate physical courses to comprehensive develop of mental and physical health.
