| Teaching marerial is the key factor to improve the teaching quality. With the development of the China's basic education reform to further research, the discussing of the teaching material' theory research and practice exploration has increasingly become one of the focus problems to the researchers, middle school teachers, students and parents. Summerizing the basic experiences about the development of teaching material since the foundation of the new China in a whole and systematic way is useful to the current teaching material reform and development. The research on it not only has the important theoretical significance but has the practice value.The former scolars'research on the historical development of teaching materials mainly confined to the teaching content,and they mostly focused on one single subject and seldom explored from the social background, the economic and cultural development and the dynamic factors of the teaching material reform.Therefore, The writer will explore the historic background of the teaching material reform, anylaze the main content of the sixty years'teaching material reform, focus on characteristics of each stage and pay more attention to the experience of the sixty years'teaching material reform from the historical development perspective in this paper.Then The writer wants to give some historic reference and provide some guidance to the current teaching material reform.In theoretical aspect, the writer wants to make people more clearly understand the history,the current situation and the future of the teaching material reform and realize the important role of the teaching material reform to the basic education curriculum reorm from the research. In practical aspect, the writer commences on the teaching material reform, reflects the current curriculum reform on the historic experience of the teaching material reform, and then we can know the curriculum reform from another dimension and find the exiting problems and insufficience.the aim of this research is to promote the development of basic education curriculum reform.
