Solid geometry is the important element in mathematics of high school. It is located in training and developing the students' ability in grasping graphics, spatial imagination and geometric intuition, logical reasoning and so on in the new curriculum standard. The main difficulty of the students was hard to understand the graphic and the concept, to use the theorem and to solve the problem according to the pervious teaching experience. Designing graphic variant is conscious to change the unessential property in order to provide the students the graphic with constantly changing shape and position when keeping its essential property, thus enrich the students' perception and deepen the students' understand and imagination to the space concept from different sides and directions. A series of investigation and study are carried out for this research based on the local variant teaching tradition and circle the variant teaching of solid geometry in the new curriculum. The outcome shows that the teachers' understand to graphic variant teaching is not overall, the use of the graphic variant in class teaching is single and the understand is profound compare the experienced teachers to new teachers. The outcome of the students' questionnaires, tests, and interviews with some teachers and students reveal that it is difficult to study solid geometry for the students. The ability to grasp the geometry is weak and there are significant difference between the boy students and girls. With cuboids model as a carrier to carry out the graphic variant teaching accelerate the students' study and the study result is improve significantly in the review of the solid geometry in senior three. Students have benefited in varying degrees, among them medium level students and poor level students gain the greatest benefits.
