The Study Of Action On Career Counseling For Groups Students In Technical School

Students in technical school are the source of the high-skilled workers. However, that does not mean they will be able to become high-skilled workers. On the current employment situation, though the students in technical school could be employed, it is very common for them to resign and change their jobs. It is a serious impediment to their career development without a clear direction for their career. As a training base for skilled workers, it is necessary for technical school to offer career counseling to students in groups. Therefore, the paper focuses on conducting the study of action on career counseling in groups to technical school students. At present, all types of schools have offered career counseling and employment counseling programs. So it is an issue to study on how to improve the efficiency of career counseling in groups. In this thesis, literature method, questionnarie survey method, actional method and other research methods have been taken to conduct the study of action on the career counseling in groups to computer major students in Baiyun Industrial and Commercial High-level Technical School. Through the practice of the career counseling in groups to technical students, the author finds the law of it and the potential issue or obstacle to it. The action aims at offering valuable methods and means for technical school career educ ation through exploring the requiments for the career counseling.The study concludes that:The practice on the career counseling in groups has improved the data of students' ability on information use, professional recognition, self-perception, professional attitude, values, career choice and conditions assessment. After statistical check, the data of the actioned class students' ability on professional recognition, self-perception and general average value have been improved obviously. On the countray, the students of not receiving the career couseling, the data increased a little bit unobviously, and three datas are decreasing. So the the career counseling in groups plays an active role in promoting the students career development.Through the practice on the career counseling in groups, the significant difference has appeared between students of different professions in their career development. So it is necessary to offer the targeted career counseling in groups to the students. Also there are significant difference between students from the city and that from the country. Age factors influence the action, but gender factors do not influence the action.During the practice of the career counseling in groups, the students' ability to accept new things is strong; they have better performance in the ability to use the information, individuals ability to adapt and professional attitude. They do not understand the job market and job position deeply and do not show their ablility to assess the conditions obviously. They are vulnerable to other factors and their ability of self-control is poor. Therefore technical school should not only teach career development courses in theory, but also focus on the career counseling in groups, build up the students' participation awareness, and let the career counseling in groups play a great role in teaching process.
