Older intellectuals of university need to adapt to the changes brought about by physiology, psychology, economy,social role and other aspects after retirement. So,if they have chosen a reasonable way of life, their mental health will be promoted and have an old age. In order to discuss the physical exercise on the impact of mood state of older intellectuals of university, this paper uses POMS scale to determine the mood state of 212 retired teachers (86 male, 126 female) of six universities in our city, and have a questionnaire survey of physical training, the results as follows:1 Comparing the different gender of the mood state of the older intellectuals of university, the average of four negative dimensions of woman such as"tension","angry","fatigue"and"panic"are higher than man, that has a significant difference (p<0.05) ; but the average of two positive dimensions such as"energy"and"self-esteem"are less than man, that has a significant difference(p<0.05) ; TMD scores of the total valuation of the emotional state of woman are also higher than that of man, that has very significant difference (p<0.01) ; There were no significant differences in the"depression"dimension between man and woman (p>0.05), in other words, the mood state of man of older intellectuals of university are better than woman.However, both man and woman, the average of two positive dimensions such as"energy"and"self-esteem"are higher than the average of five negative dimensions such as"tension","angry","fatigue","depression"and"panic", the profile is a tip shape, that is to say the mood state of older intellectuals of university is in a good level completely.2 Comparing the older intellectuals of university participate in physical activity in different levels of the mood state of dimentions, there were no significant differences to man with regular exercise among occasionally (p>0.05) , there was significant difference only in the"confusion"dimension (p<0.05) ; however, the average of four negative dimensions such as"tension","angry","fatigue"and"panic"of the woman who occasionally exercise are higher than those who regularly exercise, in addition to"tension"dimension has significant difference (p<0.05), other dimentions all have very significant differences (p<0.01) ; the average of dimensions such as"depression","energy"and"self-esteem"have not significant difference (p>0.05) ; TMD scores of exercisers who occasionally exercise were higher than those who regularly exercise, that has very significant difference (p<0.01). It explained that the lifestyle of physical activity has played an important role in regulate emotion to the woman of older intellectuals of university than those of man, the mood state of older intellectuals of university who exercise regularlly has a great improvement than those who exercise occasionally.3 Comparing the older intellectuals of university participate in physical activity in different age groups, in addition to"angry"and"depression"dimensions have very significant differences (p<0.01), other dimentions such as"tension","fatigue","energy","panic","self-esteem"and"TMD"have not significant differences(p>0.05). That is to say there was no significant difference between both. It may be the mood state of older intellectuals of university was in the more stable after they participate in physical exercises in a certain period of time.4 Comparing all dimensions of the mood state in different intensity groups of physical activity, in addition to"energy","panic"and"TMD"dimensions have not significant differences (p<0.01), other dimentions such as"angry"has significant difference(p<0.05), but"tension","depression"and"self-esteem"have very significant differences(p<0.01). Small-intensity physical activity has eased and reduced the bad feelings such as"angry","tention"and"depression", but has improved positive feeling such as"self-esteem". It explained that the intensity of physical exercise has impact on the mood state of older intellectuals of university.
