Abstract/Summary:
Classroom teaching is the central link of school education. Yang Si Middle School used to be a rural junior one of the third-class working conditions, third-class teacher qualities and third-class student sources in Taixing City, Jiangsu Province. Holding the belief "No student that can't be taught well", the teachers led by their former headmaster, Cai Lingsen, reforming the traditional 5-step classroom teaching routine, have been carrying out "Learn first, teach second, do it now and here" and achieving surprising accomplishment, which is called "only different students, no poor ones". The author introduces concrete operation of "the Yang Si Experience", explores its appearance and growth, comments on present researches, traces back to its domestic and western origin and development theoretically and practically, analyses traditional classroom teaching's basis of philosophy, psychology and education, praises its revolutionary progress and points out shortages according to questionnaires to students and teachers. The thesis tries to carry out the modern humanistic education thought through the whole process of school education and seek for a way beneficial to human development comprehensively, actively and high-effectively for our basic education by constructing its theoretical base with creative outlook of human nature, holistic view of knowledge, humanistic psychology and life theory of education. At last, the author verifies that the English language classroom teaching under "the Yang Si Experience" is the practice of task-based foreign language learning, the essential role of teachers is facilitator, not transmitter, the English language learning course is learners' whole-person learning of self-dependence, cooperation, inquiry, enhancing practicality and stimulating creativity under the teachers' guidance. "Learn first, teach second, do it now and here" offers a new clearly-stated well-workable classroom teaching style of English.
