With the deepening of teachers' appointment system reform, the separation of professional post appointment from professional title appraisal, together with the post competition system, has started to develop extensively. On the one hand, those reforms have increased the vitality of the teaching staff; on the other hand, they have deep impact on teachers' rights and interests. Owing to the difference in the understanding of new policies during the reforms, teachers' legitimate rights and interests might either be safeguarded or be violated. Therefore, it becomes vitally important to review the experience on the protection of middle school teachers' rights and discover the existing problems in this aspect.This paper attempts to use the method of case study by discussing in depth the situation on the protection of teachers' rights in Middle School H of Fujian under the background of the appointment system reform. With the combination of documentation analysis, questionnaire survey and experts interview, etc, this paper summarizes the experience of teachers' rights protection in Middle School H and examines the major existing problems. Based on the case study, this paper puts forward suggestions on the strategies to strengthen the protection of middle school teachers' rights.This paper is divided into four parts.The introduction points out the reason for selecting the topic, the definition of major concepts, the significance of the research, the technique and the present situation of the research.ChapterⅠreviews the history of the teachers' appointment system reform and the impact of such reform on teachers' rights and interests in china.ChapterⅡfocuses on the situation on the protection of teachers' rights in Middle School H of Fujian under the background of the appointment system reform. First, it draws the profile of the appointment system reform in Middle School H. Second, it summarizes the following experience of the protection of teachers' rights under the background of appointment system reform in Middle School H: human-oriented—putting teachers' rights in the first place; free expression of views-opening the channel for teachers' rights protection; school affair openness-making better management of teachers; group work-establishing the division and cooperation among groups. Last, it analyzes the major existing problems, which mainly includes the weak awareness of teachers in protection their own rights, the irrationality of teachers' structure, the inadequacy of the rights protection by labor union, the increase of teachers' pressure under the reform and the lack of normativeness in appointment contracts.Chapter III puts forward the following suggestions on strengthening rights protection under the new situation: the reinforcement on legal education and legislation in the educational sector, the improvement on the human resources planning, the strengthening of the functions of trade union; the reduction of teachers' pressure and the standardization of appointment contracts.
