Musical creation was the quickest developed teaching field of child music education in the 20th century. From the comprehensive survey on the famous child musical education system in the 20th century, musical creation is all placed at the important position. In the 2001, our country increased musical creation which was a new teaching field then in the new curriculum reform .It is proposed that improvisational creative activity should be retained up to the higher grades, meanwhile, non- improvisational creative activity namely Musical Creation should also be increased gradually. When increasing musical creation in the Grade Seven of junior middle school, how to choose appropriate activities is the key. The goal of teaching mentions the self-made musical instrument when it explains musical creation, and points out its splendid educational value. After reading it deeply, the researcher decides to unify musical creation teaching with self-made musical instrument in Grade Seven to make an attempt at musical creation, which is to investigate the feasibility that self-made musical instrument activity can be carried out in the musical creation teaching of junior middle school.The research adopts the education motion methodology. The objects of study are two classes of Grade Seven in Songmen County Middle School, Wenling City which the researcher teaches in, including 90 students altogether. Research tools involve a series of class cases about self-made musical instrument teaching activity and self - comment forms in accordance with acceptable level of junior school students, which are designed based on the musical creation content and the correlation theories in the new curriculum standard combining students' practical situation by the researcher. At the same time, the research carries on eight-week's hands-on instruction and survey to investigate the better change of students' attitude after teaching. The researcher also probes into students' viewpoints by the interviewing method. All materials are analyzed by Spss13.0. The statistical methods used include frequency distribution,percentage average,the T-test, the Cronbach alpha coefficient and item analysis. The research collects students' reply from interviews and self-comments form to list systematically.The findings show as follows. The self-made musical instrument teaching has caused students to create positive attitudes towards musical creation study; Student's creating musical rhythm displays easily in self-made musical instrument activities; Students are inclined to perform the speed and dynamics of rhythm in the self-made musical instrument activity, meanwhile, students also tend to display familiar life scenes of their own.
