High-efficiency learning refers to a learning process in which achievements, either academic or psychological, are gained with relatively less time inputted. High-efficiency learning of college students is characterized by satisfactory academic achievements, relatively less time inputted, and a good feeling achieved during the learning process. Such research efforts will not only help to improve learning efficiency of college students', promote their development of physical and mental health, but also contribute to the theoretical research of high-efficiency learning and push it into further development.In this research, qualitative research method is adopted to conduct case study of four selected high-efficiency college learners. Through observations and in-depth interviews with the selected learners, their learning status is truthfully presented, and the characteristics of high-efficiency learning in such aspects as intelligence, learning motivation , learning strategies, learning emotion, and personalities, and their interactions are revealed. Then according to the leading role of certain factor in the learning activities of each learner, the main characteristics of each high-efficiency learning case are concluded. Based on such characteristics, an analysis is carried out to discuss the main factors affecting high-efficiency learning college students, and some valuable advices are proposed about how to improve learning efficiency of college students and gain satisfactory academic achievements. In this research, the characteristics of the four selected cases fall into four types: Case A is a high-efficiency learner of motivational stimulation; Case B is a high-efficiency learner of strategy practice; Case C is the one with excellent intelligence; and Case D is the one with positive emotion. Comprehensive analysis of their learning characteristics shows that major factors affecting college students'high-efficiency learning can be generalized as follows:1. A scientific and rational conception of learning is the foundation to guide the college students into learning in a high-efficient way.2. Normal intelligence is the premise for high-efficiency learning. Excellent intelligence offers advantages for college students to learn efficiently, though it is not a necessary and sufficient condition.3. Nature and intensity of learning motivation are important factors affecting high-efficiency learning of college students. Deep-seated learning or achievement motivations, as well as stronger learning motivation, may help college students in their high-efficiency learning.4. Learning strategy is a guarantee for high-efficiency learning of college students. A set of suitable learning methods can enhance the learning efficiency, and ability of controlling the learning process is also of vital importance to improve the learning efficiency.5. Good personality and positive emotion would enhance the learning efficiency and learning achievements.
