The teaching of political theory courses plays a significant role in teaching college students Marxism systematically. Colleges and Universities started a new course named"Mao Zedong Though, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Three Represents Theory"for freshmen in 2006 and its effectiveness has a drastic influence on the fulfillment and success of the target of the political theory education in China. Therefore, the significance of the study is obvious.Whether or not the effectiveness is improved is mainly reflected by the change of thought and behavior of students and the evaluation standard is the transformation of students'knowledge, emotion, faithfulness, will and action. In accordance with the hypothesis of the study, if the education is effective, students will have better impressions on the course as well as increased knowledge, strengthened political emotion and improved political tendency. In addition, they are supposed to concern more on social problems.In light of the above-mentioned theory, the writer establishes scientific index system for assessing the effectiveness of teaching and formulates measuring questionnaires and interview outlines. The final finding is positive. With questionnaires, relevant factors are found out by exploring major elements of political education such as pedagogues, students, educational medium and educational environment. Finally, it is revealed that the objective of increasing effectiveness of the course is achieved according to the analysis of the hereinbefore four elements.
