Research On Student Values Dimensions Of Independent College

Since reform and opening up, rapid development of economy, profound changes in society, led to great changes in all areas of our society, cultural diversity has become the main trend of development. College education has always been the front of a variety of thoughts and cultures, while the college student accepts the education baptism of the new times' thought and culture, its value orientation has also had the corresponding change. In particular, Independent college, which has a unique background of running a college, student's thought condition and the values question performance outstandingly.In this study, through literature methodology, the independent college student values structural model is proposed on the base of definition of the independent college student's values as well as in the related structure analysis to the values; and on the foundation of observation and interviews, through theoretical analysis and a series of projections, the study established " the independent college student values survey " finally. Research mainly use the way of questionnaire survey, it conducted a stratified random sampling from undergraduate students of some independent college; And carry on the exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis to the questionnaire structure and independent college student values structural model by using the sampled data, and carry on the statistical test analysis to the sampled data, it has obtained good result; Finally, combined the values concept as well as the structural model and carry on an analysis to the sampled data of independent college student values, research results showed that:1st, the values of independent college students can be divided into five dimensions: the social values, the self-values, the love and marriage values, the study values, the esthetic values.2nd, this research establishment "the independent college student values questionnaire" has the good psychological surveying target, suitable for independent college students as the values measuring tool in our country.3rd, in the sequence of values importance, a number of independent college students pay more attention to the sort of self-concern, and the love and marriage, aesthetic, self-values significantly higher than that of attention to social values and attention to the study values.4th, in the treatment of the current study life and the ideal of study, the girls more active than males, the liberal arts students more positive than the science and engineering students in study values.5th, in the social values dimension, girls showed more positive than boys ,the values of liberal arts students in dealing with social development issues, social systems are also more active than that of the science and engineering students. 6th, in the aesthetic dimension of values, liberal arts students are better than science and engineering students at grasping the social harmony, interpersonal relationships, as well as a greater focus on external and inner harmony.As an exploring research on the independent college students group, this study will help to enrich the study of values and help to develop the theoretical thinking of education management to the independent students, and help the independent college students to determine the correct values, promote their efforts to developing to the direction of full and free, striving in order to eventually become the backbone in building a harmonious socialist society.
