| Value is one of the basic problems that all the humanity and social sciences can not avoid and must solve. It is also one of the key factors which has great impact on the characteristics and trends of various levels and scopes such as single person, society, nation and culture. Value problems have been profoundly discussed within, and also intercross among, many different discipline areas. Thus solid basis has been laid to understand and study value by the discussions and intercrossing. Studies on the college students’values have very close relationships not only with the thorough analysis on the basic problems about values, but also with rational knowledge about the conditions and reality of contemporary values in China. The core values of socialism with Chinese characteristics are the policy guarantee and orientation guidance for research and education of college students’values.By comprehensively using literature study, questionnaire investigation, statistics and theoretical analysis, the related problems about education of college students’values were discussed in this research, which covered the4aspects as follows.Firstly, the basic concepts of values was systematically combed and analyzed. With the combination of fundamental requirements of the core values of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the value system of college student was then established based on the research on the characteristics and evolution of Chinese traditional values.Secondly, referred to the methods and ideas of investigations to values both home and abroad, the values of1092college students from3universities, namely Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou University and Gansu Institute of Political Science and Law, were studied by using questionnaire investigation, where the special attentions were paid to the universal values, collectivism-individualism and materialism. Then the characteristics of their values and intercorrelations were quantitatively investigated by statistical method.Thirdly, the influencing factors and main causes of college students’values were analyzed, which concluded that home is the key factor to the formation of college students’ values. The one leading value with multivariant values and its changing of social values resulted from the Chinese urbanization progress and rapid development of economy and sciences was considered as the backgrounds of multivariant and complicated characteristics of college students’values.Finally, based on the analysis about the contemporary conditions and problems of college students’values, the fundamental contents and hierarchical structure of college students’values education were proposed. And5education mechanisms of college students’ values were also suggested from the perspectives on the characteristics of high education and its reality. The education mechamisims can be a systematic engineering in complementary, harmony and unified way.The related problems and research suggestions about the education of college students’ values were also discussed. It was concluded that the education contents of college students’ values should be systematized, and cooperation and endeavour from various social classes are badly needed. The further research points should focus on the investigation methods of college students’values, and hierarchy&manipuility of education contents and mechamisims of college students’values as well. |
