Thank to the rapid development of science and technology and the increasingly quick pace of economic development, young students can lead a more satisfying life than their predecessors with abundant materials. Surprisingly, they are not content with their status quo, instead, they turn to violence even suicide and murder. It goes without saying that education should play its important role facing with this phenomenon but seemingly the education lacks its ability to find a good way to solve the problem.Nowadays, there is no need for people to worry about the shortage of material, but they will be trapped in the mental vacancy. For those young middle school students, they are always lost in the mental aberration and a state of panic aimlessly and helplessly and finally lose themselves. Necessarily, it is time for us to introduce life education and put it to the top priority. Life education, by means of inspiring students to know life, appreciates life, respect life and cherish life, reach the aim to make students to promote their lives.This paper will make a research for the current situation of life education in secondary schools by ways of document analysis. The study will focus on the necessity and urgency of life education, and its main content and how to carry out the life education in secondary schools. Furthermore, this paper will make a deep research on life education in practical to conclude the useful experience to contribute to the further development of life education in secondary schools.This paper can be divided into five parts:The first part is the current situation of life education both at home and abroad. Compared to the situation abroad, our nation's life education is still at the beginning of development and it needs continuous exploration and practice. The second part elaborates the importance and necessity of life education. In the first place, the changing social environment calls for life education. The development of economic and scientific development provides students with abundant overwhelming material wealth and rich information simultaneously make them lose the direction and the value of their life and the lack of purified cultural diffusion also mislead the students. Secondly, the healthy growth of students needs life education. Students always feel confused to how to get along with people in their adolescence and they will have the life meaning crisis due to the lack of sensibility and experience. Thirdly, both schools and families are in the need of life education. The lost of the essence of school education and ill family education will have bad influence to students on establishing right outlook of life. Besides, most of teachers, who do not have a good understanding of life education, will make the life education practice no effective.The third part talks about the content of life education in secondary schools. The main content contains both ordinary and focal point. The basic content of life education is to recognize life, awe life, understand life, respect life, love life, and protect life and sublime life. The key points of life education, which are in accordance with students' characteristics, include: death education, existence education, sex education, frustration education and the education of life value.The fourth part analyzes the ways to carry out the action of life education in secondary schools. One is to offer courses of life education, and second way is to strengthen the interpenetration education in various methods. The third is to implement the sharing and experiencing courses to make life education shock the soul. The last but not least, to enhance the teachers' teaching level of life education to make sure the smoothness of the life education practice.The last part of this paper will put forward some suggestions on development of life education. Firstly, the education department should offer strong support; Secondly, the society should reinforce the study of life education, explore the resource of life education and focus on the life education practice; thirdly, the training to the faculty of life education should be paid enough attention. In addition, we need to integrate kinds of sources to boost the development of life education.
